Schizophrenia research receives best data Blitz presentation at Biological Psychiatry Australia (BPA) 2020

Dr Anna Schroeder at (virtual) BPA 2020
Congratulations to Dr Anna Schroeder on receiving the best data Blitz presentation award at Biological Psychiatry Australia (BPA) 2020.
Dr Schroeder, from the Department of Psychiatry, along with her research team is trying to understand the role of betacellulin in the brain, a protein that activates the epidermal growth factor receptor system and seems to contribute to some aspects of schizophrenia. Their data shows that this specific biological pathway appears to regulate fear, which may represent the underlying core mechanism of fear-based psychosis.
Dr Schroeder said, "I was so delighted to receive this award - it reassures me that it is a very exciting and important project we are currently working on!"
