International recognition for Monash Pediatrics
Professor Arvind Sehgal, Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics, Monash University, and Head, Cardiovascular Research, Monash Children's Hospital, has been appointed to the Editorial Board of the Journal of Perinatology, for a period of five years.
Journal of Perinatology is the official journal of the Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, American Academy of Pediatrics. It is also the official publication of the National Perinatal Association of the United States.
Highlighting Professor Sehgal’s thought leadership, this appointment also recognises the world class clinical research of Monash University’s School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health.
Newborn - Cardiovascular research in the Department of Paediatrics covers the full spectrum from basic to clinical research, including various forms of pulmonary hypertension, the ductus arteriosus, echocardiography and interventional studies in models of neonatal cardiopulmonary disease. Professor Sehgal's current research focuses on cardiovascular adaptations in infants with severe bronchopulmonary and those with fetal growth restriction.
The Journal of Perinatology provides perinatal/neonatal healthcare teams with original information pertinent to improving maternal/fetal and neonatal care. The Journal publishes peer-reviewed clinical research articles, state-of-the art reviews, comments, quality improvement reports, and letters to the editor. Articles published in the Journal of Perinatology embrace the full scope of the specialty, including clinical, professional, political, administrative and educational aspects. The Journal also explores legal and ethical issues, neonatal technology and product development.
