Dr Sarah Jones and her team in Monash University’s Rheumatology Research Laboratory have been awarded $500,000 from CUREator to support her new biotech GILZRx to run so-called ‘killer’ experiments to show that the development of a new anti-inflammatory therapeutic small molecule will reduce reliance on glucocorticoids for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and inflammatory disorders. Armed with this powerful data, GILZRx will be ready to receive investor funding for a multi-million-dollar drug discovery and development program. Professor Eric Morand provides clinical expertise to support the GILZRx commercialisation program.
