Top performers recognised in the 2023 Dean’s Awards For Excellence

Globally accessible virtual labs, Australia’s first ADHD clinical practice guidelines and support for timely thesis completions were among 20 projects recognised in the Monash Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences 2023 Dean’s Awards for Excellence, held in a virtual ceremony today.

The awards acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding efforts of academic and professional staff in  improving the human condition and promoting thriving communities through our education, research and professional services.

We were delighted and impressed with the outstanding quality of nominations across all categories and from across the breadth of our faculty’s schools and institutes. We saw projects delivering course content and feedback through story-driven workshops and videos, digital parenting interventions to improve youth mental health, improved chronic lung disease care, a group that’s an international destination for students and researchers seeking training in translational studies of perinatal brain injury, and efforts to support more women to become healthcare leaders and decrease psychosocial risks in the workplace.

Professor Christina Mitchell AO, Dean of Monash Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences congratulated all the award winners. “Our talented and committed staff continue to go from strength to strength, pursuing research that changes practice and saves lives, educating students to become our next generation of skilled practitioners, and partnering with health services to make a difference in our communities, “ she said. “I extend my warmest congratulations to our award winners on their success.”
