Dr Filippe Oliveira's contribution to Student Learning recognised with a national award

Congratulations to Dr Filippe Oliveira, on receiving the 2023 Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning, as part of the Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT).
This prestigious national award acknowledges the exemplary contributions of Australia's most exceptional university teachers. It honours those whose unwavering commitment to quality teaching has significantly enriched the learning experiences of students. This recognition serves to illuminate the profound impact of their work, which is highly esteemed by both students and the broader higher education community.
Speaking of the award, Dr Oliveira said, "This award reflects my practical teaching philosophy, which led to sustained high levels of positive student outcomes over time. In this journey, I am confident that my learners have become ‘maternal and fetal health champions’ and are ready to excel as well-prepared professionals of the future in research and/or healthcare settings. In my view, educational experiences are not just about what we teach but how and why we connect, so we must see our students as people first and students second."
Dr Oliveira is an Early Career academic at Monash University’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, who was honoured with a 2022 Dean's Award and Vice-Chancellor Award for his outstanding contribution to student learning.
