Professor Peter Ebeling AO Recognised by the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research
Prof Peter Ebeling received the 2024 Frederic C. Bartter award
Congratulations to Professor Peter Ebeling AO, FAHMS, FRACP, FRCP, MBBS, M.D. (Head of the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health and Head of the Department of Medicine) who has received the 2024 Frederic C. Bartter Award from the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR).
Every year, the ASBMR acknowledges members from around the world who have made significant contributions to the bone and mineral field, with the Frederic C. Bartter Award specifically recognising Professor Ebeling’s outstanding clinical investigation in disorders of bone and mineral metabolism.
The award will be presented at a morning plenary session at the Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada on September 27-28, 2024.
“I would like to thank the ASBMR for this award,” said Professor Ebeling. “I must also recognise the hard work and dedication of my research team, collaborators and mentors, all of whom have invaluable contributions to our important work. I am in esteemed company, and I look forward to the Annual Meeting in a few months.”
Professor Ebeling's research focuses on musculoskeletal health and diseases, public health aspects of vitamin D, post-transplantation osteoporosis, osteoporosis in men and complications of osteoporosis treatments.
Professor Ebeling has over 540 peer-reviewed publications, including in the New England Journal of Medicine, Science, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science (PNAS, USA) and Journal of Bone and Mineral Research. There have been 150 publications over the last 5 years.
In 2021-2022, Professor Ebeling was the president of ASBMR and served as the Editor in Chief of ASBMR’s open access journal JBMR Plus. He is currently Editor in Chief of Bone.
