We have a range of free training available to help our staff build their capability to enhance safety, inclusion and respect at Monash.

The Respect at Monash module is compulsory for all staff. Once this is completed we recommend you explore our other training programs.

Build your skills by completing our online modules any time or sign up for a workshop at a time that suits you: enhance your allyship to Rainbow Communities, become a champion in gender-based violence prevention, or learn how to be a confident Active Bystander.

Respect at Monash for staff

The Respect at Monash online module helps our community understand what it means to be a respectful member of the Monash Community. This is a mandatory module for all Monash University staff.

Learn how to respond with support and respect to an initial disclosure of sexual harm.

Rainbow Communities and LGBTIQA+ 101

This module will help you build foundational knowledge of LGBTIQA+ terms, identities, and communities, and empower you to continue your allyship journey.

Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Harm workshop

Building on the online module, this workshop provides an opportunity to practice responding with support and respect to an initial disclosure of sexual harm across a variety of scenarios.

Active Bystander workshop

Learn and apply the Active Bystander Framework, an internationally recognised, research‑based approach to safe and effective intervention to prevent and address discrimination and harmful behaviour.

LGBTIQA+ Ally Training (Staff)

This activity-centred workshop is focused on equipping you with practical, everyday allyship skills. You will learn how to bust harmful myths, overcome barriers to action, and rehearse real-life scenarios, with scripts and strategies to build your confidence as an agent of positive change.

The Masculinities Project -Staff EOI

In The Masculinities Project workshop series, you will unpack multiple masculinities, examine gender norms and dominant forms of masculinity, identify the links between gender inequality and gender-based violence and understand your role in prevention of gender-based violence. Staff can express their interest at this link.
