Social media
Social media plays an important role in connecting our online community at Monash:
- Learning: You can use platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and WhatsApp as part of online learning.
- Activities: Monash-affiliated clubs and societies, as well as other areas of the University, use social media to host virtual student engagement activities such as quizzes, games and eSports, live-streamed training sessions and competitions, and movie nights.
- Personal use of social media: You can connect with other students using your personal account on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Weibo and WeChat.
When you’re using social media (whether it’s for university or personal use), it’s important to consider that what you post or share reflects on Monash. Content published or shared by staff or students on social media needs to comply with the Monash University policies and procedures.
Concerning behaviour on social media
If you see, hear about, or experience unacceptable behaviour on social media, we encourage you to make a report online to the Safer Community Unit. The Safer Community Unit can also give you advice and support. For more information, see getting help and support.
