Temporary transport initiatives to support our community

  • Free parking on Mondays has been extended until Friday 26 June 2026 across all Victorian campuses in Blue and Red permit zones. This is in addition to ongoing free parking on Fridays. Standard rates apply on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You will need to start an OPark session to receive free parking.
  • Free parking on weekends: From Saturday 16 May, parking will be free every Saturday and Sunday for Monash staff and students in Blue and Red permit zones at the Caulfield and Parkville campuses. You’ll need to start an OPark session or hold a valid permit, enabling us to confirm the vehicle is associated with a member of the Monash community. This change aligns Caulfield and Parkville campuses with Clayton and Peninsula campuses, where weekend parking is already free, supporting more equitable and affordable parking for staff and students.
  • Free parking for carpooling staff and students, in selected areas on our Clayton and Peninsula campuses until Friday 26 June 2026.
  • Drivers will need to enter the designated area with at least one passenger to be eligible for free parking. Drivers do not need to start an OPark session when parking in reserved carpool areas. More information can be found here.
  • Carpoolers will need to drive and arrive with at least one other passenger being a Monash staff or student to park in reserved carpool parking.
  • An attendant will be checking that drivers have arrived with one or more passengers before permitting access to the carpool parking.
