Monash eating disorder experts share insights to inform new government strategy

Eating disorder experts from the Monash Women’s Health Alliance gathered this week to share programs, insights, evidence and capabilities in research and clinical practice with Kat Theophanous MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Women’s Health in Victoria.

Professor the Hon Jill Hennessy, Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow at Monash University, chaired the briefing as part of a consultative process in support of the Victorian Government’s new Eating Disorder Strategy.

Professor Hennessy said that the Monash Women’s Health Alliance was proud to host Ms Theophanous and brief her on the latest research on the complex factors that impact prevention, management, treatment and recovery from eating disorders.

“We were very grateful to share some of the cutting-edge research and care opportunities that will help improve outcomes,” she said. “We have extraordinary capability within the Monash Women’s Health Alliance to help drive change.”
