Monash Live Biobanking (MoLBi) platform showcased on the international stage

The Monash Live Biobanking (MoLBi) platform reached an international audience at the Hebei–Australia Expert Exchange Forum on Biopharmaceuticals and Medical Technology.
Dr Gwo Yaw Ho, Head of the Cancer Immunology Laboratory, School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health and Senior Medical Oncologist at Monash Health, was invited to deliver one of the forum’s keynote presentations.
Dr Ho presented the rapidly growing MoLBi platform, a joint Monash University and Monash Health initiative that combines live tumour models with genomic, transcriptomic and immunopeptidomic analysis to accelerate the development of personalised cancer immunotherapies.
Delegates from Hebei expressed strong interest in establishing research partnerships with Monash and exploring future collaborations, including a potential visit to Monash facilities in Melbourne.

“It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our unique platform on the international stage and demonstrate how collaboration between clinicians, researchers, patients and industry can help translate discoveries into new treatments,” Dr Ho said.
“We were encouraged by the interest from the Hebei delegates and look forward to continuing the dialogue and exploring meaningful research collaborations.”
The forum followed Dr Ho’s meeting last year with Mr John Xie Zhengzheng, Director Pharmacist at Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical University. Their discussions helped establish the connection that led to Dr Ho’s participation in the international exchange.
Monash University and Monash Health look forward to strengthening their engagement with partners in Hebei and identifying opportunities for future scientific exchange and collaboration.
