Good Food Awards

Elana Welsh, of the Office of Environmental Sustainability, presents the Green Award to Bryan Koh of Wholefoods Restaurant

The Monash Good Food Guide, launched earlier this year by the Facilities and Services Division, recently staged its inaugural awards ceremony in the Banquet Rooms at Clayton campus.

Staff and students voted on the best offerings from food and beverage outlets across the University to decide winners in a range of categories.

Wholefoods, a not-for-profit vegetarian restaurant run by Monash Students Association, took out two major awards; Best Value restaurant and the Green Award. The Green Award was presented by Elana Welsh, of the Office of Environmental Sustainability, for best practice in sustainable catering and operations.

The Best Service award went to Cinque Lire, with Artichoke & Whitebait and Joe’s Restaurant sharing the runner-up award.

Other awards were presented to Cinque Lire for Best Coffee with Artichoke & Whitebait runner-up and Neptune’s Seafood Catch for Best Chips with Peri Peri the runner-up.

Diana Vivian, Manager, Campus Centre, organiser of the awards and Linda Norrish, Project Manager, Property and Leasing, editor of the Good Food Guide presented the general awards.
