Matilda Mihailescu

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Bachelor of Business Administration student, Matilda recently completed her placement at a company based on the Mornington Peninsula. As part of the Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Monash has partnered with the Frankston City Council to launch the Linking to Business Program. The program places students with a locally based business to assist them to develop important employability skills and gain first hand work experience whilst completing their degree.

Matilda shares her experience working at local company, Aquatic Technologies.

Max Booth

Bachelor of Paramedicine

Paramedicine student, Max Booth enjoys the high pace and ever-changing environment that comes with paramedicine. During a recent work placement with Ambulance Victoria in Mordialloc, Max had the opportunity to practise IV cannulation on a real patient and says “while it was terrifying, it was definitely rewarding being able to get the cannulation in”. Max says that living locally and being able to work with a local crew meant they were able to contribute more into the clinical judgement and decision-making of the job.

Jayme Goodman

Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Teaching

Education student, Jayme Goodman has a passion for helping others and working with kids. Jayme says her lectures and tutorials are filled with theories and wonderful ideas that she has been able to use in her teaching placements, some of which have been in the Mornington Peninsula region.

Myuna / Yuemeng Deng

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Meet third year Bachelor of Business Administration student Myuna Deng. Myuna came to Monash after studying in China for a couple of years. She was impressed with Monash's reptuation and was able to transfer credit towards the BBA. Myuna explains how she learns a lot from her classmates and hopes to meet new friends by taking part in the virtual exchange program that is offered at Monash with the University of Warwick based in the UK.

Rutika Sathe

Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery (Hons)

Meet second year Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery (Hons) student Rutika Sathe. This year Rutika is looking forward to gaining real-life practical knowledge on placement, as well as the opportunity to meet different types of midwifes and other health professionals. She says her placement experience is going to put her outside her comfort zone in the best way possible.

Oshani Paranagama

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Meet second year Bachelor of Business Administration student Oshani Paranagama. Oshani chose to study at the Monash Business School because of its outstanding reputation and access to industry connections. Oshani's majoring in marketing, communications and business statistics, and hopes to begin a career in market research once she completes her degree.

Alice Peddle and Patricia Scarlett

Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Education

Meet third year students Alice Peddle and Patricia Scarlett who are both studying the Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Education at Peninsula campus. Alice and Trish share why they chose to study Education – Trish even swapped from a nursing degree to a teaching degree -  and what it is about Peninsula campus they love the most. This year, Alice also holds the position as President of the Peninsula student union, MONSU and Trish joins her as the Vice-President.

Rahul Sivabalan

Meet Bachelor of Business Administration student Rahul Sivabalan. Rahul is majoring in marketing and communicaitons, with a minor in economics and business decisions. Rahul descibes himself as a people person that likes to communicate and solve problems and realised very quickly he wanted to take marketing as a major.

Meet Bachelor of Business Administration student Gracelle Fillon. Gracelle says in her course they teach you all areas of business that translate to real-world applicable skills.Grace has also switched to a double major in marketing and management to strengthen her personal career goals.

Lauren Brewer

Passionate about emergency care, first year student Lauren Brewer is also a volunteer with the Country Fire Authority (CFA). As a trained breathing apparatus structural firefighter, Lauren has already had her share of emergencies. This is what led her to the Bachelor of Paramedicine at Monash.

Master of Teaching in Primary Education

After spending 20 years working as a Chartered Account in the automotive industry, mature age Master of Teaching student Ben Heritage decided it was time for a change. Ben is now studying full-time while raising a young family. Ben says he has no regrets about his decision to go back into full-time study as there is no age barrier to academic thought.

Dorcas Yeung

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Hons)

Third year Occupational Therapy student, Dorcas Yeung chose her university degree based on interests in allied health and design. She says there are definitely aspects of the job that require creativity, and is currently completing her second clinical placement in her hometown of Hong Kong. Dorcas is also our new social media ambassador for Open Day and shares her five top tips that you need to know before attending Open Day.

Max Han

Bachelor of Paramedicine

Max's interest in paramedicine began when he trained as a Combat Medic and Emergency Medical Technician in the Singapore Civil Defence Force. Max hopes to eventually conduct his own research into searching for novel ways to better the patient’s experience in the ambulance and alleviate their suffering through newfound psycho-therapeutic methods.

Since Sachin was in high school his goal was to come to Australia to study. Following a visit to the Peninsula Campus Open Day in 2017, Sachin hasn't looked back since. Now in his second year of the Bachelor of Business Administration Sachin is thoroughly enjoying university life.

Arun Jojo

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Arun Jojo is the president of Peninsula campus' student union, MONSU, as well as a second year Bachelor of Business Administration student. Arun’s interest in business developed following a voluntary position he took after finishing high school and his future plans include building his own sustainable school for lesser privileged children. Arun says studying at Peninsula campus means that he is a 'face of the crowd, not a face in the crowd.'

Andrea Tan

Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery (Hons)

Andrea Tan is a fourth-year Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery student hailing from Malaysia. As part of her double degree course based at Peninsula campus, she's required to complete 10 "Follow Through" experiences, where she follows a woman through her antenatal, birth and postnatal journey. Building rapport with her patients is one of the key skills she is mastering as part of her course.

Greta Fullagar

Master of Teaching in Primary Education

After having not studied in many years, mature age student Greta has returned to complete her Master of Teaching in Primary Education. Her decision to return to study was made after she volunteered helping migrant children learn English.

Jade Hopgood

Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery

Jade finished her Nursing and Midwifery degree in 2017 and was part of the Monash at Peninsula (MAP) program. Being part of the MAP program meant that Jade did all of her placements at Peninsula Health. She valued the practical, hands-on approach that her lessons offered. Reflecting on her time as a student, Jade said "It's really nice being able to walk out of the University and walk straight into the hospital. It's really reassuring to know that the course that I'm studying has a job at the end of the day."

Madeleine De Amicis

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Mady completed her Bachelor of Business in 2017. As a Monash student, she was keen to pursue a career in Event Management. During her time at Monash she said her teachers and lecturers were “really hands on and super supportive”. She loved how involved and accessible they are to students.

Jess Sayon Grech

Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery

Jess came to an Open Day at Monash Peninsula in 2013 and never looked back. She signed up for a Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery. Now a graduate, Jess said she found “the work placements instrumental” to her confidence while preparing for a career in nursing.

Bachelor of Paramedicine

After a family health scare, Lucy decided to pursue a career in the Health sector. Leaving her home and family in Queensland, she is in her final year of the Bachelor of Paramedicine. She feels that she has ‘found a home away from home’ at Peninsula.

Melindie Lane

Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood

Being a mature age student with a young family, flexibility is everything. Melindie completed a Graduate Diploma of Education (Early Childhood) in 2011 at Peninsula campus and then went onto complete her Master of Education in Early Childhood Education in 2017.
