In response to significant growth in student numbers at our Caulfield campus and the need to preserve space for future developments, Monash University has reviewed its plans for the Caulfield Plaza site.

To ensure we are well-positioned to prioritise and support long-term campus expansion, the University has made a strategic decision not to proceed with the original plan to develop the site as a retail space.

Caulfield Plaza will remain closed for the time being, and its future use is being considered as part of broader campus planning.

A timeline for the site's future development will be established by the end of 2025. The University remains committed to keeping staff and students informed and will share updates as soon as more details are available.

While the redevelopment is not proceeding as originally envisioned, the University is now focusing on enhancing the existing food and beverage experience at our Caulfield campus. Staff and student input will be essential to ensure any improvements reflect the needs and preferences of our campus community.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we realign our priorities to best support the evolving needs of our campus.
