Renovating for Net Zero
Saba Marjani, a PhD student at the Net Zero Precincts Linkage project, is leading the Buildings Living Lab with a focus on transitioning to net zero emissions precincts through deep renovation of existing buildings. Her research emphasises improving student housing conditions, advocating for student welfare, and connecting sustainable principles with lived experiences. The project employs a Living Lab approach, involving literature reviews, precedence studies, and action research, to develop principles for sustained regeneration in private student housing.

This approach aims to address barriers to net zero renovation and create a network connecting owners, students, council, and university to facilitate deep renovation processes.
