Celebrating 50 years of the groundbreaking Trade Practices Act 1974

The Monash Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies (CLARS), in collaboration with the Monash Digital Lab and the Department of Economics at Monash Business School, hosted a conference titled '50 Years of Competition Law and Economics in Australia' at Monash Caulfield campus. The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Trade Practices Act 1974, now known as the Competition and Consumer Act.

The conference, supported by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), featured discussions on the evolution and future challenges of competition law in Australia, including digital market regulations and pre-merger notification regimes.
