Justice and strong institutions in the digital age

Monash University is driving forward important discussions related to justice in the digital age by exploring crucial issues in genomics, digital law, cybersecurity, AI regulations, and privacy rights:

• The Data Justice in Genomics and Health conference, held at Monash Law Chambers by the Health Law research group, focused on equity and justice in genomics and health, emphasising transparency, stakeholder engagement, and regulation.



• The Annual Digital Law Symposium addressed legal challenges in the digital age, focusing on algorithmic regulation, AI, and privacy, with contributions from Monash Law, Business School, and IT.
• Monash University Indonesia's Master of Cybersecurity program addresses cybersecurity threats, emphasising the protection of data infrastructures.
• Dr Paul Burgess published a book on AI and the Rule of Law, exploring the need for evolving legal frameworks.
• A survey by Monash University and ANU highlighted the need for public awareness of facial recognition technology, emphasising privacy and human rights.
