COP29: Leading Efforts for Decarbonisation and Climate-Health Action

Monash University has actively engaged in the COP29 process to tackle financing barriers to decarbonisation in Southeast Asia, aiming to secure international finance and strengthen climate targets.
Monash researchers, including Associate Professors Susie Ho and Matthew French, participated in the 2024 Bonn Climate Change Conference, focusing on climate finance and adaptation as a prelude to COP29.
At COP29 in Azerbaijan, experts like Associate Professor Angie Bone and others from Monash emphasised climate-health intersections, addressing health impacts, sustainable pharmacology, and community resilience, highlighting urgent action for sustainable development.
