Monash advocates for quality in international education

Monash University, led by Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Sharon Pickering, engaged in activities to promote quality education through participation in public hearings and submissions related to the Education Services for Overseas Students Amendment (Quality and Integrity) Bill 2024:

Monash emphasised its commitment to high standards in international education, supporting underrepresented domestic students, contributing to Australia's health workforce, and underpinning world-class research.
The university advocated for mission-based compacts to manage international student numbers, aligning with SDG 4 by promoting quality education and SDG 17 by fostering international partnerships.
Monash submitted recommendations to the Senate Committee Inquiry, focusing on a consistent legislative framework for sustainable international student growth, protecting the reputation and economic value of Australian universities, and addressing inequalities in education access.
