A trauma-informed approach to family violence education

Associate Professor Jennifer Neil from the Department of General Practice at Monash University is leading efforts to improve women's health by integrating a trauma-informed approach to family violence education in medical training. Her work involves teaching medical students to recognise and respond to family violence, training GPs, and collaborating on curriculum reviews across Monash Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences.

This initiative aims to better prepare health professionals to support survivors of family violence, addressing a critical women's health issue.
