New scholarship tackles gender gap in finance, economics and actuarial sciences
Monash Business School has launched the Women in Finance, Economics, and Actuarial Science Scholarship to address the gender gap in these fields. The scholarship aims to support talented women from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue undergraduate degrees, thereby promoting gender equality in the financial sector.

Dr Lucie Joschko and Professor Nick McGuigan note the importance of dismantling structural barriers and empowering women to become leaders in finance and economics. The initiative builds on the legacy of Emeritus Professor Maureen Brunt AO, a pioneer in Australian economics.
