Monash University's gender equality initiatives

• One of the ways Monash University is working to support female professors and address research disparities is through the Maureen Brunt Professorial Fellowship, awarded to Professor Helen Skouteris in 2024.



• The university has also approved a new enterprise agreement to enhance job security and launched a peer mentoring program for women from diverse communities.
• Monash has introduced new staff policy suites to prevent sexual harm and foster a safe environment, and launched a Strategic Commitment to Gender-based Violence and Sexual Harm Prevention and Response.
• Monash is enhancing support for parents and carers through its Gender Equality Action Plan and providing comprehensive support for staff impacted by family violence.
• These activities involve key figures such as Professor Sharon Pickering, Professor Allie Clemans, and Steve Madeira, and highlight the University's commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable work environment.
