Analysing women's empowerment through fiscal speeches

Monash University Malaysia PhD candidate Iliana Yussof co-authored an analysis of 13 years of Malaysian budget speeches to assess the government's commitment to gender equality through gender mainstreaming. The study identified themes such as women's empowerment, supportive ecosystems, capability building, and human capital.

The analysis highlights initiatives like the Wanita MADANI and i-Sayang programs, which aim to enhance women's economic empowerment and leadership roles, contributing to a more inclusive society.
