Disability Inclusion for Staff

Disability is a multifaceted, fluid and relational concept which recognises that a person's interaction with physical, attitudinal, and institutional environments can be disabling.  We acknowledge that disability and its effects can also fluctuate across time and between individuals. This social model of disability focuses action on changing environments to enhance accessibility and accommodate disability. We are committed to providing an inclusive working environment for all staff. As part of this commitment, the University seeks to ensure equal opportunity for staff with disability and enable them to perform the inherent and reasonable requirements of their role by making appropriate and reasonable adjustments to the staff member’s workplace.

Neurodivergence is a form of human diversity that commonly refers to ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia (amongst others).  Neurodivergence may or may not be experienced as a disability. Refer to the support for staff page to find information about flexible work arrangements and workplace adjustments.
