Monash’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy
Framework, Enabling and Evaluation Plan, and Priority Areas
Our new Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Framework 2022 – 2030 is the centrepiece of Monash’s strategic governance on equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). Overseen by the EDI Committee, the Framework informs our actions, practices and approaches to furthering EDI in our community.
The Framework puts into effect the ‘Inclusive’ goal of Monash’s strategic plan, Impact 2030. It reflects the University’s commitment to advancing inclusion within the Monash community, and Monash’s role as a global leader by advocating for change in broader society.
The Framework is enacted through dynamic and iterative plans for enabling and evaluating our commitment to advancing EDI. The inaugural Enabling and Evaluation Plan 2023 – 2024 (‘the Plan’) will set the University’s priorities in EDI for 2023 – 2024. As Monash’s first plan in support of the new Framework, it is expected that the Plan will be an important learning opportunity as the University refines and enhances its intersectional, whole-community approach.
The plans will be updated every three years and will outline: priority initiatives, areas responsible for implementing actions, and our process for evaluating progress and success.
The University’s commitment to EDI is further embedded throughout:
- Environmental Social and Governance Statement 2021 – 2025
- Monash Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Framework 2019 – 2030
- Equity, Diversity and Anti-Discrimination Policy suite
