Gender-based Violence Prevention and Response Action Plan and Outcomes Framework 2026-2030
The Gender-based Violence Prevention and Response Action Plan and Outcomes Framework 2026-2030 ('the Plan') demonstrates Monash University’s commitment to prevent and respond to gender-based violence and sexual harm. This plan builds on previous Action Plans, including the Gender-based Violence Prevention and Response Action Plan 2024-2025 and the National Student Safety Action Plan 2022-2023.
Our latest Gender-based Violence Prevention and Response Action Plan and Outcomes Framework 2026 - 2030 sees the continuation of our efforts to make Monash a safer, more respectful University.
Informed by extensive community consultation and anchored by legislation under the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence, our Action Plan and Outcomes Framework remains dynamic and iterative, allowing us to respond to new research, trends or challenges as they emerge.
Our vision is to be a university free of violence where our whole community is safe, welcomed, respected and thriving, and this Action Plan and Outcomes Framework brings us one step closer to seeing that vision realised.
To track Monash’s progress against project indicators and measures, a range of data sources will be used to measure the impact of our work, including:
- Compliance and alignment with the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Address Gender-based Violence (National Code).
- Results of the 2026 National Student Safety Survey (NSSS).
- Monash University Gender-based Violence and Sexual Harm Prevention and Response Annual Reports 2026 to 2030.
- Staff and student experience survey data.
- University services feedback.
- Training and evaluation data.
- Targeted community consultation with students, staff and experts as needed.
- Supporting annual plans.

For all other locations, support is available from senior local staff and/or from the local partner institution as applicable, with the Safer Community Unit providing coordination, advice and support.
