Monash University acknowledges the 20th anniversary of the tragic shooting in the Menzies building at the Clayton campus on 21 October, 2002. This anniversary is a time for reflection as we remember the students, staff and families who were so deeply affected by the tragedy, particularly students Xu Hui (William) Wu and Yat Ming (Steven) Chan whose lives were lost that day.
In commemoration, all flags on the Clayton campus will fly at half-mast as a gesture of remembrance and respect, and the multi-faith Religious Centre at the Clayton campus has been reserved for those wishing to spend time in private reflection.
