Monash is excited to welcome Mr Trevor Woods to the University, taking up the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Following an extensive national and international search, Trevor joins Monash from the University of Alberta, Canada where he served as the Executive Director, Information Services and Technology since 2010.

Trevor said the strong culture at Monash was one of the key factors in enticing him to relocate to Melbourne.

“I’m very excited to be joining Monash. The culture is one that resonates with me. We want to be excellent and enterprising, international and inclusive, and reach out to the community to make a better world,” he said.

“These characteristics exemplify who I am and the kind of university community I want to serve. I want to help build teams with the right people and culture to accomplish this.

“The world is quickly changing and universities are generally struggling to keep pace. Monash is uniquely positioned to set the standard for universities of the future. I’m both honored and proud to be joining such an exceptional university.”

Trevor holds both a Bachelor of Management (Information Systems) and a Master of Education (Educational Technology) from the University of Lethbridge in Canada.

He has extensive experience within the higher education sector, and brings a focus on collaboration and service excellence together with an impressive record of strategic leadership and transformational change in information and communication technologies.

Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice-President, Peter Marshall, said: “I believe that Trevor will make an outstanding and immediate contribution to Monash and to the eSolutions portfolio.”

Trevor is married with three children, and he and his family are looking forward to making Melbourne their new home.

Trevor is to commence at Monash in mid-May.
