Distinguished Alumni Awards

Distinguished Alumni Awards

Nominations are now open for the Distinguished Alumni Awards

The annual Distinguished Alumni Awards recognise the outstanding achievements and exceptional qualities of the University’s graduates worldwide.

They also provide an opportunity to acknowledge the leadership and community service demonstrated by current Monash students.

Monash staff can nominate graduates in one of five categories: Distinguished Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award, Distinguished Alumni Professional Achievement Award, Distinguished Alumni Service Award, Distinguished Young Alumni Award, and Alumni Student Award.

Information about making a submission is available at the Distinguished Alumni Awards website.

Monash Chancellor and Patron of the awards Dr Alan Finkel AM said the University community was well positioned to identify those worthy of receiving a Distinguished Alumni Award.

“In addition to alumni colleagues, peers and mentors, staff have had the privilege of witnessing the professional and personal growth of Monash students every day, many of whom have gone on to make a name for themselves on the world stage,” Dr Finkel said.

“Their success is the result of your hard work in the name of teaching and research.”

Previous recipients include actress, writer and producer Jane Turner (BA 1988), business leader Naomi Milgrom (BA 1973), social movements campaigner Mr Hugh Evans (BSc 2008, LLB(Hons) 2008) and World Vision Australia CEO Mr Tim Costello AO (BJuris 1976, LLB 1978, DipEd 1979).

This year’s awards will be presented at a special function on Thursday 11 August, 2011.
