Donate blood at Clayton

Blood donation

Did you know that just one in 30, or 3 per cent, of Australians give blood each year? Despite this, one in three Australians will need blood or blood products in their lifetime.

You can do your bit to boost blood supplies when the Australian Red Cross Blood Service visits Monash Clayton on Monday, 18 April.

Just one blood donation can save up to three lives.

The mobile blood donor centre will be set up at Building 74, Science Centre, 8 Scenic Blvd, Clayton between 9.30am and 4.30pm on the day.

Staff who are interested in donating blood, can make an appointment by calling 13 14 95 or visiting: donateblood.com.au

Before giving blood, donors should:

  • Drink up – in the 24 hours before donation, especially in warm weather, and have atleast three good sized glasses of water or juice in the three hours prior to donating.
  • Eat up – make sure you eat something in the three hours before donating.
  • Bring ID – please bring at least one form of photo identification.
