An internationally recognised pioneer and leader in the field of vascular biology, Professor Paul Vanhoutte, has been awarded an honorary degree from Monash University.
Deputy Chancellor Leanne Rowe AM conferred the honorary Doctor of Laws at a graduation ceremony last week.
“It is very appropriate that the University recognises Professor Vanhoutte’s outstanding international contributions to medical research and his highly significant and impactful contributions to the University's research programs,” Dr Rowe said.
Professor Vanhoutte is Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Hong Kong and the chair of the International Scientific Advisory Board of Monash University’s Centre for Vascular Health.
Professor Vanhoutte has made outstanding contributions to science and health around the world.
A pioneer in vascular biology, he is one of the most highly cited scientists in the fields of biology and chemistry with a prodigious publication record.
