Internet wireless service now on inter-campus buses

Monash is now offering access to the Eduroam Wireless Network Service on the four inter-campus buses running between metropolitan Melbourne Monash campuses.
This means students and staff can now access Internet services while travelling between campuses on the inter-campus shuttle buses.
Chief Information officer, Dr Ian Tabbett said an average of 15 to 20 people were accessing the wireless service per bus, with up to 30 users going online during peak periods
“We’re pleased to see how quickly the service has been adopted by students and staff,” Dr Tebbett said.
“Our goal was to provide the students the same service they receive on Monash Campus via wireless network services to the buses rather than just access to the Internet.”
By having access to the Monash Network during travel, students can use their time on the bus more effectively. The wireless on the bus service allows students to access class notes and learning materials, read emails, carry out research activities and complete online assignments as if they were on campus.
This service is free for all Monash staff and students to use on the metropolitan inter-campus buses. Click here to view the inter-campus bus schedule
