Former Victorian Premier John Brumby addresses Mannix College

Former Victorian Premier John Brumby delivered the 2015 Entrepreneurship, Business and Innovation (EBI) Lecture at Mannix College

In front of an audience that included Mannix College staff and residents, Mr Brumby, who is also a Monash Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow, spoke on the topic ‘Innovate or Perish - Opportunities in the Technological Age’.

Mr Brumby's lecture was on how governments, businesses and individuals could meet the challenges and seize the opportunities of a rapidly changing world. He focused on the role of technology, and the potential of new advances in the medical, environmental and communications fields.

The EBI lecture is one of three conducted by Mannix College. This also includes the Newman Lecture and Women in Leadership Lecture. Previous EBI lecturers have included Monash Chancellor, Dr Alan Finkel, and Murdoch University Chancellor and Chair of Atlas Iron, Mr David Flanagan (Chancellor of Murdoch University and Chair of Atlas Iron).

Mr Brumby fielded questions from the residents following the lecture. He then joined students for a supper. Mr Brumby was presented with gifts from the College.
