Monash maintains global position in US News and World Report 2026-2027 Best Global Universities Rankings
Monash University has maintained its strong global standing in the prestigious US News and World Report (USNWR) 2026-2027 Best Global Universities Rankings, placing 38th in the world.
Evaluated against more than 2250 institutions across 105 countries, this result further solidifies Monash’s position inside the world’s top 40, reflecting the University’s research excellence and impact on the global stage.
The University has consistently anchored its position among the global top 40 since 2021.
“To maintain a top-40 position globally is a testament to the enduring quality, depth and world-changing impact of our research and education,’ said Monash University Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Sharon Pickering.
“It is also a direct reflection of the dedication of our staff, and the scale and impact of our research reputation.”
The result follows broad success in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, which saw Monash’s pharmacy and economics subjects ranked best in Australia, and 19 other subjects ranked in the top-50 globally.
