Research and teaching excellence recognised
The talent and dedication of outstanding staff members has been recognised at the annual Vice-Chancellor's Education and Research Awards.
The awards, held at Melbourne Museum last month, recognised and celebrated the outstanding contribution and achievements of educators and researchers from across the University.
Vice-Provost (Research) Professor Pauline Nestor announced the four recipients of the research excellence awards. The awards recognised excellence in postgraduate supervision, research by early-career researchers, and research impact. The six education awards, announced by the Vice-Provost (Learning and Teaching), Professor Darrell Evans, recognised teaching excellence, excellence in honours supervision, and programs that enhance learning.
Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Margaret Gardner AO congratulated the award recipients on behalf of the University.
“The standard of nominations and the breadth of talent represented by this year’s recipients highlight the level of excellence and dedication of staff across the University,” Professor Gardner said.
“Monash is committed to supporting innovation in education and research, and by acknowledging exceptional staff we recognise their important contributions in establishing Monash as a world-leading university.”
Professor Arthur de Bono, Department of Design, was also announced as the 2014 Honour Roll inductee, in recognition of academic leadership.
