Vale Emeritus Professor John Boris Miller and Dr Roderick Worley
It is with sadness that the University has learned of the passing of Emeritus Professor John Boris Miller and Dr Roderick (Rod) Worley.
Professor Miller was the Chair of Pure Mathematics, Department of Mathematics between 1965 and 1989.
His principal research interest was functional analysis, with algebra and classical analysis as subsidiary interests.
He was honoured with the title of Emeritus Professor in 1990 for his outstanding contribution to the University.
Professor Miller continued in the role as an honourary member of the academic staff of the School of Mathematical Science until his death.
Dr Worley was a senior lecturer in mathematics and computer science between 1966 and 2001.
He was well recognised internationally for his research into number theory.
