Workplace policies and procedures update

Monash HR has reviewed and consolidated its policy and procedural material to develop the following procedures in the University’s preferred format:
- The Dispute Settlement and Employment Related Grievance Resolution Procedure provides staff with clarity regarding the appropriate process for an employment-related grievance or dispute settlement as governed by the relevant Enterprise Agreements.
- The Disciplinary Action and Dismissal Procedure outlines the University’s disciplinary procedures in cases of unsatisfactory performance, misconduct or serious misconduct, as governed by the University’s enterprise agreements.
- The Salary Packaging Procedure provides staff with key information regarding staff salary packaging benefits and applications.
- The Allowances and Incentives Procedure outlines the different types of allowances and incentives available to eligible staff and the application process.
- The Salaries Procedure refers staff to the relevant Enterprise Agreement clauses pertaining to salary rates, payment and loadings.
- The Administrative Appointments Procedure outlines the appointment process of an individual to the position of deputy dean, associate dean, head of school/department, deputy head of school/department, academic director or deputy director of a Centre or Institute.
- The Work Experience Procedure provides guidance to work areas regarding the facilitation and management of work experience placements for school-age students.
- The Career Breaks Procedure provides clarity to staff and supervisors regarding the eligibility and application process for a career break, which enables staff to take a break from work to refresh, re-energise, attend to other responsibilities or pursue professional development.
