What does being a changemaker mean to you?
Being a changemaker in education means empowering students to think critically, to be creative, and to believe in their ability to make a meaningful impact. It’s about helping them shape their own lives with confidence and purpose.
What would surprise your younger self most about what you do now?
My younger self would be amazed by how accessible and transformative technology has become – not just for teaching, but for connection and to support wellbeing. I used to see educators as strict knowledge-givers; now I see the role as that of a mentor and co-learner who encourages students to take charge of their learning journey.
What motivates you to keep pushing boundaries?
I see myself as a lifelong learner. Every challenge and breakthrough teaches me something new, keeping me curious, humble, and committed to evolving – both for my students and myself.
If my students go on to support others, take risks, and lead with empathy because of something they experienced in my classroom – then I know I’ve made a lasting impact.”
What do you hope students remember about you 10 years from now?
I hope they remember that I believed in them especially when they didn’t believe in themselves. I want them to carry a mindset of resilience, curiosity, and self-worth into their careers, knowing that learning never stops.
What legacy or ripple effect do you hope to leave behind?
If my students go on to support others, take risks, and lead with empathy because of something they experienced in my classroom then I know I’ve made a lasting impact.
How do you help students build confidence, not just knowledge?
I take time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals. By tailoring my support, I help them feel seen and valued – and that builds trust, self-belief, and the confidence to grow.
How do you tailor your teaching to inspire today’s students?
I focus on relevance, relationships, and real-world readiness. Today’s students thrive when learning feels meaningful, so I design lessons that are practical, flexible, and student-centred. I use technology, collaboration, and reflection to keep learning dynamic and engaging.
