Peninsula Education Precinct

A number of educational providers have joined together to develop the Peninsula Education Precinct, which aims to provide enhanced educational opportunities for students in the southern and south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, the Frankston region and the Mornington Peninsula.

The precinct will explore new and exciting ways of establishing links between secondary schools, TAFE and university. Precinct partners retain their own educational identity and focus, but collaborate closely with each other to break down institutional and sectoral barriers. It is hoped that the Peninsula Education Precinct will prove to be a showcase for multi-sectoral educational collaboration.

Precinct Objectives

  • Create a framework for the identification and management of innovative, regionally specific, educational programs and pathways designed to maximise learning opportunities and outcomes.

  • Identify and promote educational initiatives that facilitate improved aspirations and access to higher education by young people across the Peninsula.

  • Contribute to the intellectual, economic and cultural development of the region by collaborative arrangements between the educational providers, industry and relevant communities.

  • Improve the relevance and effectiveness of education provision within the region.

  • Maximise the opportunity for sharing and developing resources across the sectors to support educational provision in the region.
