Learning and Teaching Building
A new gateway and learning hub for the Clayton campus
The Clayton campus's new Learning and Teaching Building will create a dynamic learning environment, and a striking entrance for the campus from Wellington Road. Open to all students and staff in furthering innovative teaching and learning practices, the building is a physical demonstration of Monash's commitment to the Better Teaching, Better Learning agenda.
More than 60 formal and informal learning and teaching spaces will provide an outstanding student-centred learning experience for Monash University and Monash College Diploma students alike. Comprising four levels, the new building will also be home to the Faculty of Education and the Office of the Vice-Provost (Learning and Teaching).
Construction commenced in early 2016. The Learning and Teaching Building is scheduled to open at the start of 2018.
Part of the bigger picture for the southern precinct
The new Learning and Teaching Building will be a key component of the reinvigorated Clayton campus southern precinct—the largest infrastructure development program in the history of the campus.
Plans for the southern precinct also include a new public transport interchange, additional parking, facilities for cyclists, public plaza and retail outlets.
The transformation of the southern precinct is in line with the Clayton Campus Masterplan's vision of developing a vibrant and inviting campus.
