Parking update: September 2025 graduations

The University’s newest graduating cohort will be celebrated with 16 ceremonies at Clayton campus from Tuesday 9 September to Monday 22 September. On ceremony days, parking will be in high demand, with blue permit parking expected to reach capacity by 10am.

Free overflow parking – 264 Ferntree Gully Road, Notting Hill

  • Located at 264 Ferntree Gully Road (next to the Notting Hill Hotel) – five minutes from Clayton campus
  • Free for Monash staff and students.
  • Monash shuttle buses every 20 minutes.

Additional parking information and tips:

  • Reserved parking: Levels one and two of the SE4 multi-level car park at 60 Scenic Boulevard will be exclusively reserved for graduand parking. The ground level will remain available for staff and student parking.
  • Parking alternatives: Blue permit parking will be available at the N1 multi-level car park at 10 Research Way, and at 738 Blackburn Road.
  • Traffic management: Additional traffic controllers will be in place to help you find a car space.
  • Traffic diversions: To help manage morning peak congestion, temporary traffic diversions will be in place at the Normanby Road and Howleys Road roundabout from 8-11am. Traffic control officers will guide commuters to alternate routes leading to the N1 car park and campus.
  • Student parking access: Students may park in Red permit spaces after 10am at Clayton, Caulfield and Peninsula campuses.
  • Smart commuting:
    • Consider using public transport or try carpooling with colleagues to travel to campus during this busy time.
    • Staff travelling between campuses can consider using the University’s pool vehicles to avoid losing your parking spot.
  • Live parking updates: Staff can check the Clayton parking live feed to monitor parking capacity as you plan your journey to campus.
