Monash University is the first Australian university to join the Forum of Incident Responders and Security Teams (FIRST), enhancing its capabilities in cyber incident response. This membership allows access to global cyber threat intelligence and collaboration with other leading institutions and organizations in improving cyber security standards and practices.

Monash Innovation, part of the Enterprise and Engagement portfolio, has expanded to incorporate the University’s Commercialisation and IP team, New Ventures, as well as start-up hub The Generator. The integration of these programs was undertaken to enhance Monash University’s innovation ecosystem, improving the alignment of commercialisation and entrepreneurship activities with the Impact 2030 strategic goals.

Monash University introduces the digital M-Pass ID for students and staff, enabling access to campus facilities and services through mobile devices. This initiative eliminates the need for physical ID cards, enhancing convenience, security, and environmental sustainability.
Monash became the first university in Australia to utilise mobile credentials for building access, facilities and student/staff identification with the launch of M-Pass for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android smartphones. Stored in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, the digital M-Pass allows students and staff to complete any action that would have previously required a physical ID card, with just a simple tap of their smartphone.
