Monash University Malaysia’s School of Business, in collaboration with microfinance institution Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia, developed a tailor-made training curriculum to meet the current needs and challenges of women micro-entrepreneurs in the bottom 40 per cent of the Malaysia household income (B40) group. The training program has also been adopted by the Laboratory of Entrepreneurship and SMEs Development (ESME Lab) in Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia.
Training sessions were carried out throughout 2022 for the benefit of at least 1000 women micro-entrepreneurs among poor and low-income families in Malaysia and Indonesia.

The Mutual Value Measurement Framework (MVM), an initiative of Monash Business School researchers with colleagues from the Australian National University and University of Warwick, was rolled out as a commercial venture in 2022. The MVM is the product of a two-year study, co-funded by the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM), and provides co-operatives and mutuals with a common language to understand how and where they create value, how to measure and represent this value, and how to communicate it to stakeholders.
By August 2022 approximately 50 cooperatives and mutuals in Australia were on the journey to adopt the framework, with BCCM also fielding increasing interest from organisations overseas.
