International workshop on the history of business law

The Monash Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies (CLARS) hosted an international workshop on the History of Business Law and Governance at the Monash University Law Chambers. The event brought together leading corporate law scholars to explore the historical development of business law and governance, examining topics such as the history of corporations, corporate fiduciaries, corporate theory, and regulation of business in different contexts.

The workshop provided a masterclass for students and generated numerous insights into the evolution of corporate law, highlighting the importance of understanding historical perspectives to inform contemporary legal practices.
