Monash University, under the leadership of Professor Sharon Pickering, Vice-Chancellor and President, is undertaking a review and refinement of its Impact 2030 strategy. This process involves revising the vision statement, mapping progress towards global challenges such as climate change, geopolitical security, and thriving communities, and creating a streamlined Implementation Plan reporting structure.
The strategy emphasises the University's role as a global network of campuses across the Indo-Pacific, focusing on social and technological transformation, research excellence, and fostering Indigenous voices. The review aims to ensure Monash remains adaptable and continues to deliver on its aspirations in the face of changing global and national landscapes.
Monash University is enhancing its international partnerships to provide scientific, social, economic, and cultural benefits globally. Recent visits from Indonesian and Chinese delegations have strengthened collaborations in research, teaching, and student mobility, focusing on Sustainable Development Goals and global challenges like climate change.
The Indonesian delegation, representing over 30 universities, discussed fostering collaboration, while the Chinese delegation from Peking University explored new research synergies. These partnerships aim to create a sustainable, equitable, and prosperous future for the Asia-Pacific region.

Monash University has released its SDG and ESG Reports for 2023, showcasing its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and Environmental, Social, and Governance commitments. The reports highlight the University's achievements in gender equality, climate change, and quality education, as well as its progress in research, teaching, campus initiatives, and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. The reports also include a new section on climate risk disclosure.

This strategy aims to deepen the Alliance's impact on research, education, and global engagement through new funding mechanisms and enhanced collaboration.

The strategy will expand student mobility and cross-cultural experiences, fostering global leaders. The Alliance has already engaged over 1000 students in joint programs, and the introduction of Alliance Alumni programs will strengthen global scholarly networks.
