Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellows are persons of national and international eminence, involved in development and implementation of strategic, student, research and operational activities of the University.

| Dr Christine Nixon AO, APM | 5 February 2026 | Dr Christine Nixon AO is a former member of the Monash University Council, on which she served from January 2009 until December 2020, including as Deputy Chancellor from 2014 to 2020. She was also Chair of the Monash College Board from 2011-2020. In 2001, Christine was appointed the first female Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police, and chaired the Victorian Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority from 2009-2010. Christine has since been actively involved in leadership roles across numerous organisations, including as Chair of the Good Shepherd Microfinance, a Board member and Chair of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and Deputy Chair of the Castlemaine State Festival. She has also received awards for leadership from the Save the Children Foundation, Business Review Weekly and the Committee for Melbourne. In 2022, Christine was appointed Chair of Leadership Victoria, and in January 2023 she was commissioned by the Minister for Home Affairs to investigate abuse of the Australian visa system. Christine is known for her insights into the challenges of leadership in today’s society and as a mentor to women and young people; she is frequently called upon for public speaking engagements in different fields. In addition to her academic qualifications – a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University in Sydney and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University in the US – Christine has been awarded four Honorary Doctorates as well as various community awards. In 2021, Christine was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to law enforcement, women in policing, and tertiary education. Christine’s role as a Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow involved partnerships with the portfolios of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) in supporting the University’s Fire to Flourish program, and the Chief Operating Officer in mentoring leaders among Monash staff. She also provided strategic support to the Faculty of Arts in relation to criminology and family violence, continuing her vital role as an adviser to the Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre. |
| The Hon. Kim Carr | 30 June 2025 | Kim Carr’s eminent Parliamentary service to Victorian and Australian communities includes Ministerial appointments in Cabinet as Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (2007-2011 and 2013), Minister for Higher Education (2013), Minister for Manufacturing (2011-2012), Minister for Defence Materiel (2011-2012) and Minister for Human Services (2012-2013). He also served as a Senator for Victoria from 1993 to 2022. During this time he was Manager of Opposition Business in the Senate and held Shadow Minister appointments in Higher Education, Science and Research, Industry and Innovation. He has also served on numerous Senate Standing Committees in the areas of Employment, Education and Training. As a distinguished public servant, Kim was a passionate, powerful and effective champion of the Australian higher education and innovation sectors. Prior to his parliamentary career, he was a ministerial adviser in education, a policy analyst in Commonwealth-State relations and a secondary school teacher. As a Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow, Kim’s role had particular focus on providing strategic advice and expertise to advance partnerships with local and global industries, including the development of the Monash Technology Precinct. |
| Wai-Kwong Seck | 31 October 2023 | Distinguished Monash alumnus and Monash Fellow Wai-Kwong Seck is Chief Executive Officer of Eastspring Investments, the asset management business of Prudential Corporation Asia (PCA). He has overall responsibility for growing the business, deepening its investment capabilities, and expanding the firm’s global and local retail and institutional client base. He also sits on the PCA Board. His previous positions include: Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific, at State Street Bank and Trust Company; Chief Financial Officer, Singapore Exchange; and senior positions in the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Singapore’s DBS Bank. He holds board/committee appointments with the Singaporean Government, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Trinity International University (Chicago). In 2017, he was awarded The Public Service Medal of Singapore. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Wai-Kwong’s role had particular focus on contributing to the Monash Business School’s MBA, alumni engagement and the School’s profile in the region and beyond. |
| Shaun Carney | 29 September 2023 | Acclaimed writer, journalist, and author Shaun Carney is a distinguished Monash Alumnus. As a journalist and columnist, he has reported and analysed Australia's major political issues since first being appointed a Canberra correspondent for The Herald newspaper in the days of the Fraser government. His work has been published in The Age and the Herald Sun newspapers in Melbourne, together with other publications, such as the Guardian and Quarterly Essay. Shaun’s appointments at The Age included associate editor, national political columnist, state political editor, Saturday Extra editor and chief copy editor. He was also national affairs editor of Rolling Stone Australia. As author, editor or contributor, Shaun's work has been published in eight books, including 'The Change Makers - 25 Leaders in Their Own Words', 'Press Escape – a memoir', 'Australia in Accord – Politics and Industrial Relations Under the Hawke Government', and 'Who Defines the Public Interest?'. Recognition of his journalism has included the Judges' Commendation in the Comment, Analysis, Opinion and Critique section of the Walkley Awards (2003) for his political columns. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Shaun's role included co-authoring a book for publication by Monash University Publishing, providing strategic advice, contributing his expertise to academic disciplines, particularly disciplines within the Faculty of Arts, and advancing the University and its interactions with the community. |
John Funder, AC | 31 March 2023 | John Funder is widely recognised for his contributions to research in cardiovascular endocrinology. He has published over 600 scientific papers, given more than 200 international invited presentations, supervised 40 PhD students and mentored many more. His research has ranged widely, but he is best known for his contributions to the physiology and pathophysiology of the steroid hormone aldosterone and its role in hypertension. His contributions have been recognised internationally by awards from the American Heart Association, Endocrine Society (USA), International Society for Hypertension, and the IPSEN foundation. John was Deputy Director of the Prince Henry’s Hospital Medical Research Centre (a forerunner of the Hudson Institute) and Director of the Baker Institute (now Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute). He chaired the International Society for Endocrinology, Australian Society of Medical Research, Endocrine Society of Australia, VicHealth, and SANE Australia, and was inaugural Executive Chair of Obesity Australia. In 2015, John was awarded Australia's highest honour, the Companion of the Order of Australia, for eminent service to medicine, to the development of academic health science centres, and to mental illness, obesity, and Indigenous eye-health programs. John's role as a Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow included providing strategic advice, contributing his expertise to academic disciplines, especially disciplines within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, and advancing the University and its interactions with the community. |
Louise Adler, AM | 17 March 2023 | One of the most significant figures in contemporary Australian publishing, Louise Adler has led publishers Reed Books Australia and Melbourne University Publishing, and edited the Australian Book Review. A former President of the Australian Publishers Association, Executive Committee member of the International Publishers Association, and presenter of the ABC’s Radio National ‘Arts Today’ program, Louise has made a sustained and distinguished contribution to the arts and the community through her involvement in the print and electronic media, arts education leadership, university governance and public discourse. Organisations with which she has held board memberships have included the Melbourne International Arts Festival, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, and Methodist Ladies’ College (as Chair). In recognition of her achievements and service, Louise was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2008 (for her service to literature as a publisher, through support for and promotion of emerging authors, to tertiary education, and to the community) and awarded Doctor of Laws honoris causa in 2015 by Monash University, where she had been a Deputy Chancellor and a long-standing member of the University Council. Mick Dodson, AM | 31 May 2021 | Distinguished Monash alumnus Professor Mick Dodson, member of the Yawuru peoples, is an Emeritus Professor of the Australian National University, at which he was a Professor of Law and inaugural Director of the National Centre for Indigenous Studies. The Australian Human Rights Commission’s first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, Mick has worked extensively as a legal advisor in native title and human rights. He is internationally renowned as an advocate on land rights and other issues affecting Indigenous peoples locally and globally. His awards include Membership of the Order of Australia (for service to the indigenous community, particularly in raising awareness of social justice issues, as a contributor to advancing the reconciliation process, and as a campaigner for native title rights) and Australian of the Year, 2009. Mick's role as a Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow included providing advice, leadership and mentoring on matters relating to Indigenous affairs. |
| Mary Vallentine, AO | 3 September 2019 | One of Australia’s most distinguished arts administrators, Mary Vallentine has held appointments including Chief Executive Officer of the Melbourne Recital Centre, Managing Director of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and Administrator of the Adelaide Festival of Arts. She has undertaken arts consultancies for Musica Viva Australia, Victorian Opera Company and the New Zealand Symphony. Her community involvement has led her to board positions with the Australian Youth Orchestra, The Myer Foundation, Malthouse Theatre and the Naomi Milgrom Foundation. Among her awards are Officer of the Order of Australia and the Sir Bernard Heinze Memorial Award. Mary’s role as a Vice-Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow included providing strategic advice, expertise and mentoring in matters relating to the performing arts. |
| Aibing Yu | 27 April 2019 | Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science Aibing Yu has received prestigious awards for research, including an ARC Federation Fellowship, Ian Wark Medal (Australian Academy of Science) and NSW Scientist of the Year 2010 (in the Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Sciences category). His honorary appointments at universities in China, Japan, UK and USA have enhanced his international collaborations. Aibing has sustained an active involvement with the Chinese-Australian academic community, leading to his honorary presidency of the Federation of Chinese Scholars in Australia. In 2017, he was elected a Foreign Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Aibing was involved in the further advancement of the University’s relationships and presence in China. |
| Warwick Anderson, AM | 31 March 2018 | Warwick Anderson is much lauded for eminent service to health and medical research, as both researcher and administrator. Former CEO of the National Health and Medical Research Council, Warwick was foundation head of Monash University's School of Biomedical Sciences and Deputy Director of the Baker Medical Research Institute. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia, for service to health and medical research through leadership roles with the National Health and Medical Research Council, to the development of medical science at Monash University, and to hypertension and renal physiology research. Warwick's Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow role included provision of strategic advice to the Vice-Chancellor and to the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. |
| John Thwaites | 31 December 2017 | A distinguished Monash alumnus, John Thwaites is a former Member of the Victorian Parliament who served as Deputy Premier of Victoria and as Minister in portfolios including Health, Planning, Environment, Victorian Communities and as Victoria's first Minister for Climate Change. In these portfolios, he was responsible for major reforms in social policy, health, environment and water. Since retiring from Parliament, his roles have included Chair of the National Sustainability Council of Australia, the Australian Building Codes Board and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and infrastructure adviser to Timor-Leste. Located in the Monash Sustainable Development Institute as a former Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, John is Chair of the Institute and Chair of ClimateWorks Australia. |
| Graeme Samuel, AC | 11 November 2017 | Lawyer, banker and former President of the National Competition Council and Chair of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Graeme Samuel is a distinguished Monash alumnus. His extensive community involvement has included: Chairman of the Playbox Theatre and Opera Australia; Commissioner of the Australian Football League; Chair of the Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust; and Chair of the Inner and Eastern Health Care Network. Graeme was also Managing Director of independent investment bank Greenhill. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Graeme was based in the Faculty of Business and Economics and was involved in public policy, including reform and competition policy. |
| Paul Ramadge | 30 June 2017 | In his career of leadership in the media industry, Paul Ramadge has held editorial posts including: Editor-in-Chief and other editorial roles at The Age; Editor-in-Chief, The Newcastle Herald; Editor with Macquarie Publications; and Guest Editor at The Guardian (UK). Among his external roles have been as a delegate to the Australian American Leadership Dialogue, his board membership of the Australian Science Media Centre and as a member representative on the Committee for Melbourne. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Paul provided leadership in Monash's engagement with Indonesia and was involved in leadership programs and mentoring in Journalism. |
| John Bertrand, AO | 31 December 2016 | An international sportsman, businessman and philanthropist, John Bertrand is a distinguished Monash alumnus. John skippered the winged keel Australia 2 to victory in the 1983 America's Cup, overcoming 132 years of American domination to break the longest running record in the history of modern sport. His leadership roles have included Chair of the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, Chair of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame and Chair of selectors of the Australian Olympic sailing team, the highest ranked at the 2012 Olympics. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, John was involved in the development of a leadership program at Monash for postgraduate students and Monash alumni. |
| John Brumby, AO | 31 December 2016 | A former member of the Australian and Victorian Parliaments, John Brumby served as Premier of Victoria, Victorian Treasurer and Leader of the Victorian Opposition. Since retiring from politics, John has accepted a number of board positions, including Chairman of the COAG Reform Council and Chairman of the Motor Trades Association of Australia Superannuation Fund. Among his community involvements has been his work as Chairman of Trustees of the Joe Welch Bursary Trust, as an Australia Day Ambassador and an active member of the Fred Hollows Foundation. John's Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow role included board membership of the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute and the Monash Business Policy Forum, staff mentoring, and student and public lectures. |
| Mark Joiner | 31 December 2016 | Mark Joiner has extensive, executive-level experience in strategy, finance and corporate development to leadership of environmental and social sustainability initiatives. His business positions have included: Executive Director Finance, NAB; global Chief Financial Officer, Citigroup's wealth management division; and global head of Corporate Development, Boston Consulting Group. A founding member of Flora and Fauna International (Australia), Mark participates on its Advisory Board and is a member of the National Sustainability Council. | Leon Kempler, OAM | 31 December 2016 | Businessman Leon Kempler's prominent honorary roles include: Chair of the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce; Chair of the Advisory Council of the National Science and Technology Centre (Questacon); Director of the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation; and Director of the General Sir John Monash Foundation. He is Chair of Ducere, Director of Launcher Services and International Adviser to Mesoblast Ltd. His awards include the prestigious Jerusalem Prize. | Simon Molesworth, AO QC | 31 December 2016 | Distinguished Monash alumnus Simon Molesworth is an eminent QC specialising in environmental, planning, heritage and natural resource law. His appointment as foundation Chairman of the International National Trusts Organisation followed his long-standing positions as Councillor of the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) and Member of the Australian Government's National Cultural Heritage Committee. A founder and former President of the Environment Institute of Australia, he has been an advisor to Australian governments on environmental policy, resource management and town/regional planning. Simon's role as a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow was in leadership development of students and Faculty of Law activities, especially in environmental, planning and natural resource law. |

Eminent curator and director in Australian modern art and contemporary visual art Maudie Palmer was Founding Director of both the Heide Park and Art Gallery (now the Heide Museum of Modern Art) and the TarraWarra Museum of Art. She was project director for the development of the vision and architectural
briefs for construction of major buildings at both museums and was integral to the development of sculpture parks at Heide and Herring Island. | Wing Thye Woo | 31 December 2016 | Economist Professor Wing Thye Woo, University of California at Davis, has particular academic interests in globalisation, Asian economies and sustainable development. His professional affiliations include being: President, Jeffrey Cheah Institute on Southeast Asia; Distinguished Professor, Fudan University, China; Chang Jiang Professor, Central University of Finance and Economics, China; Adjunct Senior Research Scholar, Columbia University, USA; Non-Resident Senior Fellow, The Brookings Institution, USA; and Research Professor, Sunway University, Malaysia. He has acted as an advisor to US and Asian governments and international organisations. His role as Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow was affiliated with the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia, and Monash Sustainability Institute, and was focused on assisting Monash University Malaysia's work in Southeast Asian Studies and sustainability. |
| Paul McNamee, AM | 14 October 2016 | Renowned international tennis professional and sports administrator Paul McNamee is a distinguished Monash alumnus. Among Paul's achievements as a tennis player have been his No. 1 world ranking (doubles), No. 1 Australian ranking (singles), winner of five Grand Slam doubles titles and member of two winning Australian Davis Cup teams. His sport administration roles have included: co-founder and Tournament Director, Hopman Cup; and chief executive/chairman roles in Australian Tennis and Golf Opens. Paul is founder and Chairman of the Kids Tennis Foundation. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Paul assisted Monash's development as an enhanced destination for elite Australian and Asia-Pacific athletes and for sport-related study. |
| Helen Silver, AO | 21 July 2016 | Distinguished Monash alumna Helen Silver has held senior management positions with the Australian and Victorian Governments and in the private sector. Her eminent appointments have included: Secretary, Department of Premier and Cabinet, Victoria; First Assistant Commissioner with the Australian Government's Productivity Commission; and Chief General Manager, Workers Compensation, Allianz Australia Insurance.Among Helen's prominent community engagements has been her work as a Director on the board of the Grattan Institute and as Chair of the Australia and New Zealand School of Government. Helen is currently on the board of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.In her role as a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow and member of the Monash Business Policy Forum, Helen assisted the development of public policy 'think tank' capacity at Monash. She also contributed to student leadership programs. |
| Tony D'Aloisio, AM | 28 February 2016 | Tony D'Aloisio has made outstanding contributions as a regulator and lawyer. He is the former Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, was the Chief Executive Partner of the major law firm, Mallesons Stephen Jacques and has been a director of international bodies involved in regulation of financial markets. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia for service to business and commerce. Work with charitable foundations and contribution to public policy debate have characterised his engagement with the community. A distinguished Monash alumnus, Tony assisted as a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow in the development of and contribution to a specialist business think tank at the University. |
| Richard Divall, AO OBE* | 31 December 2015 |
Eminent composer, conductor and musicologist Richard Divall's career encompassed roles as a music producer with the ABC, Music Director of the Victorian State Opera and Principal Resident Conductor of Opera Australia. He conducted many concerts, ballets and more than 150 operas. As a musicologist,
he edited over 150 works of early Maltese Music and more than 200 works by early Australian composers. Richard was a Knight of Malta in Solemn Religious Profession and was active in hospitaller works. Richard was a member of the fundraising committee for the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and also

| Andrew Dyer | 31 December 2015 | Distinguished Monash alumnus Andrew Dyer chaired the Transport Accident Commission and the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman Council. He has held executive positions in the utilities, technology and consultancy sectors in Australia and the USA. A former Victorian Government Commissioner to the Americas, Andrew has played a significant role in facilitating bilateral trade and investment activity between the Americas and Australia. Among his directorships have been board appointments with the American Australian Association, The Good Foundation and the advisory board of ClimateWorks Australia. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Andrew assisted the strengthening of the University's engagement with industry. |
| Geoff Raby | 31 December 2015 | A former Australian Ambassador to China and senior member of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Geoff Raby is Chairman and CEO of Geoff Raby and Associates – a Beijing-based business advisory firm, Executive Director of Riverstone Advisory and Independent Director on boards including Fortescue Mining Group, OceanaGold and Gloucester Coal. He is also Co-Chair of Corrs Chambers Westgarth's China Business Group. Geoff holds a ministerial appointment to the International Education Advisory Council. Geoff's involvement as a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow included public lectures, research publication and advice on strengthening Monash's international relationships. |
| Paul Sheahan, AM | 31 December 2015 | Former Australian Test Cricketer, Principal of The Geelong College and Headmaster, Melbourne Grammar School, Paul Sheahan is a distinguished Australian who has had extensive community involvement. Paul's public engagements have included: Trustee of the Sir Robert Menzies Foundation; Director, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Pty Ltd; President, Lord's Taverners (Victoria); Member, Special Olympics Organising Board; and Director, Queen Victoria Market Board. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and Life Governor of the Australian Drug Foundation. Paul's role as a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow included contributing at Monash in areas such as education paradigm development, leadership programs and doctoral training. |
| Christian Behrenbruch | 30 September 2015 | Entrepreneur and distinguished Monash alumnus, Chris Behrenbruch is recognised internationally for commercialisation achievements in IT, medical device and biotechnology domains. He has particular expertise in university-industry technology transfer and early-stage venture capital and has fostered entrepreneurship and commercialisation at universities internationally. Chris is CEO of Los Angeles-based biotechnology company ImaginAb Inc. Selected as a World Economic Forum 2011 Young Global Leader, he also received the 2012 Advance Global Australian Award in biotechnology. In his role as a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Chris assisted Monash to increase focus around science, engineering and entrepreneurship, including University-industry technology transfer. |
| Kay Patterson | 21 September 2015 | As a former university academic, Australian Senator and Minister, Kay Patterson is a notable Monash alumna. Her sustained community involvement has included her Life Membership of Girl Guides Victoria, 20-year membership of Monash University Council and her membership of the Board of the Brockoff Foundation. A consistent supporter of embryonic stem cell research, Kay was pivotal to legislation enabling such research. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Kay's role included advising on external relationships and involvement in Monash's Ancora Imparo Student Leadership Program. |
| Janine Kirk, AM | 2 September 2015 | Executive Director of the Prince's Charities Australia, Janine Kirk has extensive experience in the business, public and not-for-profit sectors. Janine's appointments have included Partner at Earnst & Young, CEO of the Committee for Melbourne, Ministerial Advisor in the Australian Government and Honorary Aide to the Governor of Victoria. Her community roles have included Chair of Tourism Victoria, Melbourne Prize Trust and Management Committee and the Leadership Advisory Board, Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute at Monash. | Alistair 'Murray' McLean, AO | 12 August 2015 | As one of Australia's most senior professional diplomats, Murray McLean served as Australian Ambassador to Japan, in senior China postings, Australian High Commissioner to Singapore and as Deputy Secretary to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. After retirement from government service, Murray was appointed as Chair of the Australia Japan Foundation and adviser in the development of the Australian Government's White Paper "Australia in the Asian Century". He also advises and consults to business through his company, Dunmore McLean Pty Ltd. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Murray provided advice on Monash's international activities, especially the strengthening of Monash's relations with China and Asia in general. |
| Paul Grabowsky, AO | 29 July 2015 | Australian pianist, jazz musician, conductor and composer Paul Grabowsky has achieved national and international renown in the performing arts. Among his many distinguished awards have been four ARIA awards and the Melbourne Prize for Music. In addition to composition and performance, Paul has directed festivals, including the Adelaide Festival, and held senior posts such as Commissioning Editor (Arts and Entertainment) at the ABC. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the Australian Art Orchestra. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Paul was based in the Faculty of Arts. | Daryl Le Grew | 30 June 2015 | Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Tasmania and the University of Canterbury, Professor Daryl Le Grew has held board memberships of Universities Australia, Australian Research Council, Australian Learning and Teaching Council, National Cultural Heritage Committee and the Higher Education Research Reference Group. Daryl's community involvement includes Life Membership of the Museum of Victoria. A registered Architect, Daryl was an adjudicator and key consultant to major public projects including the new Museum of Victoria, National Gallery of Victoria refit and the Melbourne Recital Centre. Daryl's role as Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow included advice in strategic academic and organisational matters and on activities of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. |

As a member of Federal Parliament, Petro Georgio served on parliamentary committees including Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Science and Innovation and Deputy Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Public Accounts and Audit. Prior to entering Parliament, Petro had been Victorian State Director
of the Liberal Party, the Founding Director of the Australian Institute of Multicultural Affairs and a Prime Ministerial Senior Adviser. His community activities included board membership of the State Library of Victoria. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Petro contributed to teaching in politics,

| Hugh Niall, AO | 15 May 2015 | Hugh Niall's extensive experience in academic medical research and in the biotechnology industry has included senior positions at Harvard University, the Howard Florey Institute of Experimental Physiology and Medicine and at Genentech (USA) and as Chief Executive of Biota Holdings and a founding Director of the Australian Stem Cell Centre. His continued involvement in research commercialisation has included appointment as Chair of the Investment Committee of the venture capital equity fund Genesis Fund. In his role as a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Hugh advised on research commercialisation and contributed to Monash's Ancora Imparo Student Leadership Program. |
| Shane Thomas | 1 March 2015 | Professor Shane Thomas is an authority in health services quality improvement, the management of chronic illness and international collaboration. His work has received formal commendations from the Australian, Chinese and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia governments and it has achieved a high degree of translation into government policies and programs. His many leadership roles have included commissionerships with the Chinese National Institute of Hospital Management and the Chinese Centre for General Practice Research and Development and honorary professorships with Peking, Sydney and Melbourne universities. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Shane was involved in the development of commercial opportunities for the University and international partnerships, particularly in China. |
| Terry Moran, AC | 28 February 2015 | Terry Moran's eminent service to the Australian community has included his roles as: Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet; Secretary, Department of Premier and Cabinet, Victoria; Director-General of Education, Queensland; and CEO of the Australian National Training Authority. A career public servant, Terry has championed and led major reform in both public policy and government administration. Among his appointments since leaving the public service have been as Chair of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority and a Governor of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia. As a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Terry assisted the establishment and development of public policy "think tank" capacity at Monash. |
| Rosemary Calder, AM | 30 January 2015 | Distinguished Monash alumna Rosemary Calder has achieved prominence in health and social policy through her extensive experience as senior bureaucrat, independent consultant and academic. Her appointments have included senior executive positions with the Australian and Victorian Governments and the Australian Council on the Ageing. Her academic roles have been at Monash University and Victoria University, Melbourne. Among her community activities have been her board membership of the White Ribbon Foundation Australia and the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health. In her role of Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow, Rosemary was focused primarily on collaboration in the development of health policy, including workforce and international outreach issues. |
| Mary Finsterer | 31 December 2014 | Acclaimed as one of Australia's most original composers, Mary Finsterer has achieved international recognition, her work having been performed by leading ensembles and orchestras. Among her numerous awards are international music prizes and a Churchill Fellowship. Her experience incorporates work as a director and producer. Mary has been increasingly involved in multimedia, composing notated scores and electro-acoustic landscapes. Projects include composition for the concert stage, cinema and opera. Mary's Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellow role included performance program management and teaching in the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, commissioned composition and advancement of Monash's profile. |
