Monash community commended by Queen's honours

Professor Tam Sridhar AO
Alumni, volunteers and supporters from across the Monash University community have been recognised in the 2012 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Among those recognised was Dean of Engineering, Professor Tam Sridhar, who was made an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO). Professor Sridhar received his honour for distinguished service to tertiary education.
Fellow Monash academics Emeritus Professor Barry Hart and Dr Robyn Horsley have also been recognised for their extraordinary contributions to Australian communities in the 2012 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Emeritus Professor Barry Hart from the School of Chemistry was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his service to conservation and the environment, particularly in the areas of water quality, aquatic ecology and catchment management.
Dr Robyn Horsley from the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine was awarded a Medal in the General Division (OAM) for her service to occupational and environmental medicine, and to medical education.
