Postgraduate Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP)

The FIT Postgraduate Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) allocation for 2026 has been exhausted.

Eligible FIT Master's courses:

Places will be allocated to commencing new students (not internal transfers) based on academic merit.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to be considered for a CSP for a FIT Masters course as a commencing student, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, a holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or a holder of a permanent humanitarian visa, AND
- Have received a full or conditional or deferred offer to commence an eligible FIT Master's course at Clayton campus in semester 1, 2026.
Application:
- No application is necessary. Students are automatically assessed and awarded the CSP by the Faculty.
Eligibility notifications:
- Round 1 offers: All students with an eligible course offer issued by 6 January will be automatically considered in this round
- Round 1 outcomes: CSP offers issued from 19 January
- Round 2 offers (if places still available): All students with an offer issued by 2 February will be automatically considered in this round
- Round 2 outcomes: CSP offers issued from 9 February 2026
Transfer from a domestic full-fee place to a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) for the remainder of your FIT Master's degree.
Selection criteria:
CSPs are allocated to continuing students based on academic achievement. You must have:
- Achieved a minimum of a High Distinction (HD) Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 80. Higher cut-offs may apply depending on the number of students and number of places available.
- Have completed a minimum of 12 credit points towards your FIT postgraduate degree (not including any credit granted)
Eligibility:
- An Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, a holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or a holder of a permanent humanitarian visa.
- A continuing full-time or part-time postgraduate student (coursework) enrolled in a full-fee place in an eligible FIT Master's course at Clayton campus in semester 1, 2026.
Application:
- No application is necessary. Students are automatically assessed and awarded the CSP by the Faculty.

Will I receive a CSP if I meet the eligibility criteria?

Meeting all the eligibility criteria doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be awarded a CSP. Where there are more applicants than there are places available, applicants will be ranked by academic merit.

If you don’t receive a CSP, FEE-HELP loans may be available to eligible domestic students.

Please note:

Only successful students will be notified of their outcome.
Offers issued after the CSP allocation rounds for commencing students will only be considered for a CSP if places are available.
CSPs for commencing students are not able to be deferred to a later intake.
