International partnerships

#1 in Australia and #52 globally for Computer Science (Times Higher Education, 2024), Monash Faculty of Information Technology is committed to enhancing academic opportunities for students around the world.

We strive to build upon our established transnational education collaborations with leading institutions, giving a whole new audience of international students a range of exciting pathway opportunities to study their preferred IT course at Monash.

The following is a list of our active institutional partners (project-level partnerships undertaken by our researchers are not included).

Amity University
Students from Amity University who have completed a relevant undergraduate degree can apply for a credit transfer from the Bachelor Tech (Information Technology, Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence) to a Monash University Master of Artificial Intelligence.
Credit Transfer Arrangement
Depending on the number of credits brought forward, students can complete the Master in Artificial Intelligence in either 18 months, or 24 months. Students from Amity University will be offered credit with the four (4) foundation units within the Master of Artificial Intelligence (C6007) based on their undergraduate qualification. Applicants will have the opportunity to refuse credit to allow applicants to enrol in a 2 year postgraduate program if required.
Upon completion of the Monash program, students will graduate with a Monash University Master degree in Artificial Intelligence.
Vidyalankar School of Information Technology
Vidyalankar School of Information Technology (VSIT) is an approved college by the Government of Maharashtra, affiliated to the University of Mumbai. VSIT and VIIE offer global pathway programs for students to transfer to Monash University.
Collaboration model 1
VSIT and Monash University have a credit transfer arrangement which allows students to complete 1.5 years of the Bachelor of Science - Information Technology program at VSIT and transfer into the second year of study in one of the following courses:
- Bachelor of Information Technology with the following majors:
  - Business information systems
  - Cybersecurity
  - Games and immersive media
  - Software development
- Bachelor of Computer Science with the following specialisations:
  - Advanced computer science
  - Data science
Upon completion of the Monash program, students will graduate with a Monash University degree.
Collaboration model 2
Vidyalankar Institute for International Education (VIIE) and Monash University have a credit transfer arrangement which allows VIIE’s Diploma in Computing (with Business management) and Diploma in Computing (with Cyber security) students to transfer into the second year of study in the following courses:
- Bachelor of Information Technology with the following majors:
  - Business information systems
  - Cybersecurity
  - Games and immersive media
  - Software development
Upon completion of the Monash program, students will graduate with a Monash University degree.

Study grants
A limited number of study grants are available for Vidyalankar students. Students must submit an application to study at Monash University and meet all entry requirements to be considered for the grant. No specific grant application is required, you will be automatically assessed when you've applied for one of the approved Monash courses.

Feng Chia University
Students from the International School of Technology and Management at Feng Chia University (Taichung Campus) who are undertaking an undergraduate degree in a Bachelor of Science can apply for a credit transfer to Monash University, Australia.
Credit Transfer Arrangement (2 years + 2 years)
Students who have completed the relevant number of units can apply for a credit transfer to Monash University, Clayton Campus. This allows students to complete 2 years of the Bachelor of Science at Feng Chia University, and then transfer into the second year of study in one of the following courses:
Bachelor of Information Technology with the following majors:
- Business information systems
- Cybersecurity
- Games and immersive media*
- Software development
Bachelor of Computer Science with the following majors:
- Advanced Computer Science
- Data Science
Monash University Entry and Admission Requirements
Students must obtain an overall average of 80% in the units completed at the International School of Technology and Management at Feng Chia University. Students must also meet English Language requirements and minimum entrance requirements for admission to Monash University Australia.
Upon completion of the Monash program, students will graduate with a Monash University Bachelors degree.
*If the Games and Immersive Media Major is selected for Semester 2 intake (July), this will increase the course duration to 2.5 years due to unit offerings and unit prerequisites.
Ho Chi Minh University of Technology
Undergraduate
Students from Ho Chi Minh University of Technology who have completed the relevant number of units in a Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Computer Engineering can apply for a credit transfer and complete one of the following Bachelor degrees at Monash University:

Students can undertake the following majors in the Bachelor of Information Technology (C2000) as part of this credit transfer agreement without affecting the credit and course duration:
- Bachelor of Information Technology with the following majors:
  - Software development
  - Cybersecurity
  - Business Information Systems
For the Games and Immersive Media major, the credit and duration will be:
February intake: 48 points, 2 years
July intake: 48 points, 2.5 years
Note: Students who have completed ONLY MT2013 will receive credit for FIT1006 only.
Students can undertake he following specialisations in the Bachelor of Computer Science (C2001) as part of this credit transfer agreementw ithout affecting the course duration:
- Bachelor of Computer Science with the following specialisations:
  - Advanced computer science
  - Data science
Students must maintain an average GPA of 2.7 (65%) in the units completed at Ho Chi Minh University of Technology.
Upon completion of the Monash program, students will graduate with a Monash University Bachelors degree.
Postgraduate
Students from Ho Chi Minh University of Technology who have completed a relevant undergraduate degree can apply for a credit transfer from the Master of Computer Science to a Monash University Master of Cybersecurity.
Credit Transfer Arrangement
Depending on the number of credits brought forward, students can complete the Master in Cybersecurity in either 12 months, or 18 months.
Upon completion of the Monash program, students will graduate with a Monash University Master degree in Cybersecurity.
University of Danang
Students from University of Danang (VN-UK) who have completed the relevant number of units in a Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering can apply for a credit transfer and complete one of the following Bachelor degrees at Monash University:
Credit Transfer Arrangement (1 year)
University of Danang and Monash University have a credit transfer arrangement which allows students to complete 2 years of the Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering program and transfer into the third year of study in one of the following courses:
- Bachelor of Information Technology with the following majors:
  - Software development
Credit Transfer Arrangement (1.5 years)
- Bachelor of Information Technology with the following majors:
  - Business information systems
  - Cybersecurity
- Bachelor of Computer Science with the following specialisations:
  - Advanced computer science
  - Data science
Upon completion of the Monash program, students will graduate with a Monash University Bachelors degree.

Developing new partnerships

All international partnerships need to be initiated by Monash Global Engagement, and a Monash Information Technology faculty or staff member who supports the proposal.

The Faculty will review proposed activities for collaboration, in consultation with the Faculty Executive and Monash Global Engagement.

Once the proposed collaboration has been approved, a formal agreement will be required. The Faculty will work with Monash Global Engagement to prepare the appropriate documents.
