PHARMACY TOPS WORLD RANKINGS
For a consecutive year Monash University has ranked second in the world for Pharmacy and Pharmacology, only behind Harvard, in the QS 2018 World University Rankings by Subject released today.
The 2018 QS assessment of the University’s Pharmacy and Pharmacology subject detailed a perfect score of 100 for the academic reputation indicator, as well as strong scoring in citation metrics.
Monash is again ranked number one in pharmacy and pharmacology in Australia and within the AsiaPacific region
Monash also featured prominently among the world's elite institutions, placing in the top 100 in 41 of the 48 subjects listed. Monash ranked in the top 50 in the world in 26 subjects – up from 23 subjects in 2017.
Monash significantly improved rankings in Performing Arts (22), Chemistry (36) and Statistics and Operational Research (37), and this year entered the world top 50 in Materials Sciences (48), Social Policy (48) and Earth and Marine Sciences (49).
Monash President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Margaret Gardner AO said the results reflected the University’s growing international reputation for excellence and collaboration.
“These exceptional results across a great many disciplines are a wonderful demonstration of Monash University’s endeavour to create global impact through excellent research and education and by engaging with industry to advance innovation,” Professor Gardner said.
Other highlights in the QS University subject rankings for Monash included:
- Improvement by four places in Chemical Engineering (24) and Psychology (38)
- Improvement by three places in Accounting and Finance (23) and Education (14)
- Improvement by two places in Anatomy (24) and Business (29)
- Improvement by one place in Law (26)
- Medicine (maintaining a rank of 29)
